“After hosting the Bidder’s Conference, major efforts at the BRA revolve around the RFP. Staff are preparing to review the proposals, as well as creating material for the eventual community meetings that will take place once the citywide masterplan gets fully underway. One of the tools which will be used is the Baseline Snapshot. It is meant to serve as a summation of a key area or topic from the Master Plan for individuals who come to one of the later meetings and have questions.

The Baseline Snapshot highlights what a specific area is and why it’s important; the relationship the theme has to other plan themes; facts; what’s in the works/underway; opportunities/trends/challenges; and goals & next steps. The topic area that I started working on this week was Environment & Adaptation. Looking at various existing plans and reports, I started to put together the outline for what will become the eventual Baseline Snapshot. The Greenovate Boston 2014 Report was incredibly useful to begin my work on the Baseline, as it contained information regarding the progress Boston has made on climate change issues, as well as Boston’s current goals.”
