“First week at MASS I focused on mapping the segregated urban fabric of Belfast – a city divided by Peace lines – a series of borders that separate Irish nationalist and unionist neighbourhoods. These Peace lines- first built during the Troubles – multiplied during the years – at times reach 5km in length and 7.6m in height. In recent years a public discussion has started concerning the removal of the peace walls- research however shows that a big part of the populations still find them indispensable in keeping the peace between the population.”
