“The Massachusetts Port Authority, more commonly referred to as Massport, operates a large number of transportation-related entities including three airports and 10 maritime facilities in the state. Unlike other transportation-oriented agencies, such as the MBTA, Massport is financially self-sustaining and does not require state assistance in its operations.

Over the course of my first week at Massport, in addition to my project work, I’ve been able to observe and tour a number of Massport’s facilities in the Boston area. Specifically, I’ve been able to see assets related to Logan Airport and the multimodal forms of transportation it employs both in its accessibility and operations. I’ve also been fortunate to attend a number of meetings with senior Massport staff, including one conducted at Logan Airport’s Air Traffic Control Tower, which offers an impressive view over the entire facility.”
