” My summer at NCPC is going by so quickly. It is hard to believe I am just finishing my eighth week here. Perhaps one of my favorite parts about interning with NCPC is the variety of projects I am exposed to and the array of divisions and planners I am able to collaborate with.

This week I have learned quite a bit about the Federal Capital Improvements Program (FCIP). Every year NCPC is charged with reviewing federal capital budget proposals for projects slated for the next 6 years.  Staff evaluate the proposals to ensure that projects conform to federal and local planning policies. NCPC’s analyses and recommendations are compiled into the Federal Capital Improvements Program Report which is then submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).”
